Grenada’s World Athletics Javelin Champion Anderson Peters finished seventh in the Men’s Javelin in the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku, Finland on Tuesday. His best throw in the competition was 80.42 meters, far short of his career-record 87.31.
The event was won by Marcin Krukowski of Poland, who threw the javelin at 89.55 meters. Trinidad and Tobago 2012 Olympic goal medalist Keshorn Walcott was second with a distance of 82.84 meters. South Africa’s Rocco Van Rooyen finished in the third position with a throw of 81. 23 meters
Grenadian Olympian Kanika Beckles competed at the Prairie View A&M Stadium in Texas, USA. She contested the 400 meters and finished 4th in 55.93 seconds.
The leading Grenadian athletes are competing at international meets stated in Europe, North America and other regions as they count down to the Tokyo Olympics which start next month.
