Devonie Joseph, a left-handed bat/wicket-keeper from Grenada, is included in the West Indies Rising Stars U19 team to tour Sri Lanka.

Both the Ministry of Sports and the Grenada Cricket Association have congratulated Joseph, wishing him great success in Sri Lanka.

Joseph has enjoyed a successful season representing Grenada and the Windward Islands in the respective regional U19 tournaments. He was a centurion for Grenada in the Windward Islands tournament.

Cricket West Indies has named a 15-man squad to play two four-day Tests and three ODI matches against Sri Lanka starting on August 25.

Top-order batter Dominican Stephan Pascal will be captain for the white ball matches with Nathan Sealy, the left-handed slow bowling allrounder, to lead the side for two red ball matches which conclude the Tour.

The squad includes three players who played in the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup in 2022 which was hosted in the West Indies. They are: fast bowler Isai Thorne, allrounder Nathan Edward and left-handed batter Jordan Johnson.

The next ICC Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup will be played in Sri Lanka in January and February 2024.

“This is a very important tour to Sri Lanka for the development of this group of young cricketers.
