Longer hours for free movement

This week, Grenadians started enjoying two additional hours for free movement, extended business hours, as well as longer hours to enjoy the beaches.
On Monday, Government announced an update in the curfew hours for the period Tuesday June 09 from 7:00 am and ending at 7:00 am. on Tuesday June 16, 2020.
Freedom of movement is now allowed between the hours of 5:00 am to 9:00 pm daily whereas prior it was up to 7pm.
Beach hours are now 5:00 am to 5:00 pm whereas prior it was up to 11am.
Businesses that have already been authorised to operate are now free to do so until 7:00 pm daily.


New establishments permitted to operate as of Tuesday June 09, are as follows:
• Gyms and Fitness Centres
• Operators licensed under the Gaming Act
• Food Vendors and Restaurants with In-Dining services
According to the regulations, these new establishments must adhere to a specific set of reopening protocols, and only after receiving authorization from the Ministry of Health. Further, these business owners must submit a request to alliedhealthgrenada@gmail.com and must also undergo an inspection by health officials to obtain clearance certificate in order to operate.
Other businesses or undertakings may be exempt by an application, in writing, to the Commissioner of Police, acting on the direction of the Cabinet of Grenada.


Meanwhile, two fitness centres located in the south of the island notified the public that despite this announcement, they will remain closed until further notice.
Body Image Health Club and Fit for Life Health Club in notices on their Facebook page on Tuesday, informed that they were not prior informed of this decision.
Therefore, having no knowledge of what the Ministry of Health’s specific protocols and requirements are, the Clubs remain closed until the conditions for re-opening are fully met in collaboration with the ministry.
