Mabouya Road is open once again

After being closed to vehicular traffic for almost 20 years, Mabouya Road is open to the public.

This is as a result of the completion of repair work. That area, which leads to Gouyave, Saint John, had some serious vehicular accidents in the past, prompting its closure and diversion of traffic to the Mt Nesbit Road.

However, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Public Utilities, Energy, Transport and Implementation has warned of the closure of Mt Nesbit Road.

On Monday (October 05), the Ministry began urgent work on the Mt Nesbit Road, St John to facilitate the construction of a retaining wall and cross culvert.

The work is planned for three weeks and the Ministry apologises for any inconvenience and anticipates the cooperation of the residents of the area and the general public.

Meanwhile, motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
