Netball Grenada, formerly the Grenada Netball Association (GNA), has elected its first male president. Lebert Alexander is the captain of the men’s national team.
The Anglican High School teacher was elected at the recently held Annual General Meeting at the Public Workers Union to serve a four-year term.
Before being elected president, Alexander served on the executive in different capacities, including public relations officer.
He replaces Alison Miller who did not stand for re-election, following the conclusion of her two-year term of office.
The first Vice President is Kemoy Liburd and second Vice President is Denise Cameron, Jacqueline Belfon is re-elected as secretary with Sally Ann Morain as her Assistant, Nesona Bain holds the office of treasurer and Tiffany Frederick is public relations officer.
A representative from Carriacou and Petite Martinique will also serve as a member of the new executive.
Following his election to the top office, president Liebert Alexander thanked the affiliated clubs for electing him and having confidence in his leadership. He promised to work together with other members of the executive to move the sport of netball to another level. He also called on all netballers and lovers of the sport to give their fullest support to the new executive in their efforts to further develop the game.
