Murder accused Ron Simeon is to undergo a psychological assessment while on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison.
This was ordered by Magistrate Kina Marrast-Victor when Simeon made his first court appearance unrepresented last Friday (Oct 23) at the Saint David Magistrate’s court.
35-year-old Simeon, known to suffer from mental illness, was charged with Non-Capital Murder in connection with the death of his brother 48-year-old Vaughn Francis, both of Perdmontemps, Saint David.
The deceased was discovered by a family member on the morning of October 18, 2020, lying unresponsive at the Perdmontemps home.
Reports are that Simeon and the deceased were involved in an altercation, which allegedly involved a violent act that resulted in the death of Vaughn Francis. It is believed that Francis was struck in the back of the head from a blunt object.
The district medical officer pronounced Francis dead at his residence.
Simeon was remanded until November 13, 2020.
