The two teams, Tanteen Strikers and Tanteen Aces, were a combination of junior, senior and veteran players who contested several singles and doubles matches, each being played as tie breakers – meaning the player who reached seven points first.
At the end of the matches, Strikers team emerged winners totalling 25 points to Aces 19.
Among the exciting matches was veteran player Jimmy Brown defeating senior player Ryan Telesford.
Also competing in the tournament was a contingent from Carriacou which included Parliamentary Representative Kindra Maturine-Stuart who played a women’s singles match.
President of the tennis Association Bonny Wilson was among the scores of spectators who witnessed the Saturday afternoon event.
The next team tournament is fixed for October 17. |
