Thanksgiving motorcade next Saturday

In what seems to be ‘throwing caution to the wind’ an island wide thanksgiving motorcade is being planned for next Saturday (September 19, 2020).

“While we know that globally there is a pandemic out there, while we know there are some people who can be asymptomatic, we really believe that we have enough to say thanks to God just for who He is and who He has been,” expressed President of the Alliance of Evangelical Churches of Grenada (AEC), Devon Rachae.

The executive members of the AEC, which is planning the event, said while Grenada has recorded 24 cases of COVID-19 thus far, there are no active cases presently and no deaths recorded. This, they said is enough to give God thanks for.

The motorcade is expected to commence from the Grenada National Stadium car park from 9:00 am travelling through Saint George, along the Eastern Main Road to around the island.

Rachae noted that understanding the risk that mass gathering can quickly spread COVID-19, persons are expected to remain in their vehicles.

At each parish, there will be a 10-minute pause for prayer. Each parish is expected to organize a joint worship team, who will lead worship sessions. The President invites persons
