Persistent rain disrupted the championship game of the Grenada Cricket Association 50 Overs per side tournament between Saint Mark and Saint David thus both teams have been declared joint winners of the 2020 competition
Batting first in gloomy weather conditions at the Cricket Stadium, Queen’s park, Saint Mark reached 56 for two wickets when the rain started and continued into the late afternoon forcing the match officials to call off the game.
Opening batsmen Lindon Lawerence was dismissed for 4 bowled by former West Indies fast bowler Neilon Pascal and Windward Islands Volcanoes and West Indies under-19 batsman and captain, Kimani Mulius was bowled by Joseph for 11.
Another Volcanoes batsman playing for St. Mark was Kaveen Hodge who was not out on 31.
Saint Mark reached the final defearting Saint George on Saturday by 35 runs. Batting first, Saint Mark scored 196 all out. Ronald Ettienne top scored with 44; Kimani Melius 38; Micah Narine made 26 and Sheon Andrew 24.
The Leading wicket takers for St George Kem Charles, who bowled six overs taking four wickets for 14 runs and Javed Paul who bowled 10 overs and picked up three wickets for 42 runs Chasing 197 for victory, St George were bowled out for 159. Opening batsman Akeem Alexis made 31; Branson Johnson 24 and Adel Beggs 23. The leading wicket takers for St Mark, Ronald Ettienne seven overs two wickets for 18 and Micah Narine seven point two overs two wickets for 32 runs.
