“Be a positive role model for youth, act as a spokesperson for young people’s rights to equality. Actively participate in the activities of the Ministry of Youth Development and represent your community and country at various levels.”
This was the charge given to the 33 recently appointed youth ambassadors by Minister with responsibility for Youth Development, Hon Kate Lewis.
During a ceremony at the Grenada National Stadium last Tuesday the appointees received their instruments of appointments to serve over the next year (2020/2021).
The Grenada National Ambassadors core comprises two CARICOM representatives, their alternates and the 30 newly appointed ambassadors. They are expected to represent the views and concerns of young people on national issues, as well as provide support and advice to the Ministry of Youth on programmes and projects for young people.
The ambassador’s programme is aimed at fostering relationships among the youth from various backgrounds.
The appointees, who were selected from over 50 applicants to represent the youth in their constituency, expressed readiness to take up the task ahead.
